No problem, but it doesn't mean you can't do it. Just be cautious. When I attempted this I used a tube, with a tapered end, filled with corn starch rather than my mouth and blew onto an cotton/alcohol flame. It's still risky for various reasons including fire hazard but alot less so and a bit less effective (depends on tube design) but possible. You can also reduce the risk when putting in mouth by not breathing in while corn starch in mouth, but that method there is still a lesserrisk for ARDS.

hope you didn't / don't inhale AFTER putting the corn starch in your mouth. If it the lungs open and some of the powder ends up in them it's a probability for fatal ARDS. |
