Thanks so much for posting this. I grew up in Chicago and watched him every Sunday. He was amazing to watch. He is missed.

Walter Payton up played on crap teams for much of his career. It wasn't until later on in his career, when Ditka became coach that the Bears got much better.

It was '77. I watched that game as a 12 year old and was absolutely amazed watching him.

you really can't say barry was the best Rb yeah he was more elusive but he couldn't do everything Payton did and as good as he did... only 2 things barry has over Payton is speed (maybe) and elusiveness by a lil bit... but as for passing blocking trucking leaping catching payton was a complete back did more and brought more to the table then sanders as a team you can benefit more from that, straight rushing yards yeah barry but all around payton

I'm sorry but barry sanders is the best running back by far.. you can love sweetness all you want hell its hard not to admire his love for the game, but don't say that walter payton was better because barry was the most untouchable and unstoppable back there ever was. I can say that if he would have played for another team he would have had 2,000 yards every season, but those are if's. Just watch some videos of barry sanders with an open mind and you will agree that he is better.
