You're 100% correct about what Dylan wrote the song about.

This song may have originated prior to the Vietnam War, but it ultimately became one of the anthems of that long and tragic conflict. I remember hearing it played during the dedication of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, when they read aloud the names of all of the 58,209 soldiers who died in Vietnam -- it took almost three days. When will we ever learn?

a touching video, and i think that everyone who died fighting in a war for someone elses gain deserves rememberance and respect. However, this song is actually about the Cuban missile crisis, not the vietnamese war. Still, nice video (Y)

It is a hard rain, and it's still raining harder than ever. No politician has ever been as scared as any young man being shot at for the ideals and financial gains of another. How many people do you think would join the Armed Forces if the minimum age to join was twenty two? I'm not sure but I know I was little more savy at 22 than I was at 18.... Pray for ALL who are scared and lonely tonight..

God bless these men and women who still fight the effects of this war to this day and my thoughts go to those who lost their fight! |
