agree, any gorvenrment willing to attack any other is a threat, not to offend you, but your government is a threat at the world by attacking a country that didn't did anything

I haven't even watched the vid yet, but I agree with you completely.

If you look through the history of resolutions that have been vetoed, you'll find that many of the times that they were done so by the US, because of its Security Council power; they had shot them down. So for instance when the UN voted 154-1 opposing the build-up of weapons in outer space (Reagan's Star Wars) in December of 1987, the US was the 1 vote against it. And thats just 1 case.

Its actually the other way around, the US uses Israel basically like a third arm.

As I have stated before. Our forefathers were adament about a non interventionist policy. I quote Thomas Jefferson..."Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations; entangling alliances with none." AND "The spirit of this country is totally adverse to a large military force."Our country has strayed far from what our forefathers had envisioned. It will be our downfall.

hehe! Honestly I'm enjoying this debate in some sick way. Agreed that the UN is very bias in the application and enforcement of resolutions. I guess where I have a problem is that Israel claims victim when it is common knowledge they are the most powerful country in the middle east. Also, I do not believe Israel is our friend. My opinion is that they are using us to accomplish their own ends. That has led us to our current situation.

Ok, last time...really. lol. You can't just swap Israel & Iraq w/any validity, unless u agree that all UN resolutions are created equal & that UN resolutions are unbiased & equally applied. Isn't it interesting that UN for years failed to condemn Israel's attackers, not to mention other atrocities around world, but G.A. always eager to blast tiny Israel for its self-defensive moves. And to ape the late Lloyd Bentsen, the US knows Israel; Israel is a friend of ours and Israel is no Iraq.

...cont... Had to take axis of evil one at a time...Iraq was stubborn, longtime threat w/past aggression & WMD in heart of Middle East, tying down tens of thousands of troops. Post 9/11, containment was no longer acceptible. Bush took the bold step; didn't work as planned, but for all the trouble, still has its positives. I think we can both agree that it will be a good day when the troops can come home. I'm sure we disagree on when that should be! Take care.

Well, thx. It's rare that such can be discussed w/o ad hominem attacks. Anyway, this may be last post (or 2) on topic, but not sure we knew N. Korea's full treachery in 02, still believing the Clinton/Carter "peace" deal.
filter1971 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
My point is this. Our government, in fact any government can use any excuse they deem necessary to invade a soverign nation. There are many other countries that are a larger threat than Iraq. N. Korea being the top of that list. Iraq was a threat to Israel, not to us. By the way, I really do enjoy debating with you. You seem like a nice person.(lol that sounded odd didn't it.)
