Oh, and to the comment about "wicked expensive suspension"... what? My lift was right around $600USD for quality springs and shocks. That's not bad. Stock Rovers have a decent suspension at best, but it's still stock. And slightly modified 4x4 could outwheel a Rover. They just don't have enough flex or ground clearance. Toyotas have much more ground clearance in their stock form, and Jeeps and Rovers are close, but I'd still side with a Jeep just because of the price difference.

I'm not sure why I'm even commenting because since I'm not saying "zomg land rovers rock lololol" I'm going to get negative votes. Land Rovers here, in the US, are expensive. Finding one for ~$6250 (roughly) USD like you've said in decent condition rarely happens. Plus, maintenance on them is more pricey than a Jeep or 'Yota. Land Rovers aren't bad machines at all, I'm not saying that. But when comparing them to a Jeep (which I wheel, here come the flames) or 'Yota doesn't make sense money wise.

starscream918 What are you talkin about? land rovers expensive? no way, you can buy a good condition defender for about £3000 and have fun in it straight away i know becuase ive done it, and its probbly the same for the rest of the 4x4s for that price. do same homework before you comment.

You're joking, right? Toyotas will walk all over a Land Rover, and lets not even mention Jeeps. Land Rovers are overly expensive for what you get. If we're talking out-of-the-box (off-the-lot?) performance, then maybe- maybe they'd out-perform a Toyota or Jeep.

wow whoever said toyatas or nissans can out offraod a land rover is retarded. land rovers are meant for offroading. they come stock with a good suspension for offroading. toyatas you have to buy a wicked expensive suspension. same thing with jeeps even. land rovers come with them stock

Disco 2s are suffering major problem with the electrics (lucas), and I dare to say that I don't trust em.I love the disco2 though, nearly bought one one year ago.
