if im not mistaken common carp are also indigenous to the uk and have natural predators or constraints limiting the population, unlike america or canada where they reproduce rapidly

Wow carp are a real pest in the u.s. In the uk they are reveered and highly saught after sport fish, guess the colder weather stops them spreading and becoming pests here.
