Well, Johnny was very original, and I respect him very very much, but i would don't consider him the greatest. Punk rock does not consist of complicated guitar riffs. Punk rock bands like Ramones and Greenday are composed of short, beaty songs.

I love it how Dee Dee broke Johnnys' gay ass guitar. And that in Chelsea Horror Hotel Johnnys' a bad guy. and someother dude from ny dolls, which also sucked. Sid sucked too. Barbara was bitchy. Oh well, I'm picking up Poisoin Heart tommorow.

I've read all 3 books he wrote. They are very good with that special Dee Dee "black humor". He truly was a great writer... with a special talent with words. It's the books that sold me on Dee Dee. In contrast, quote from Thunders, "I never read my autobiography". Junkie too sleepy?

JTh greatest junkie ever. That's it. Joe Perry loved the Dolls (his favorite band). Aerosmith toured with Dolls. Perry in "Walk This Way" pg 221, "Their thing never translated out of NYC and they never did anything to change that. They couldn't play very well anyway, or even tune their guitars, so they bombed everywhere." Sounds about right.

I fuckin agree with you.I respect Thunders but Dee-Dee was the most creative and productive bassists in the history of rock

Dee Dee was a humble hero, and wrote much better songs than Johnny Thunders, who thought he was a a god.
