The (old) Real Book has the changes to this tune in the seventh and eighth bars as D major seventh and F major seventh. Bill always played F major seventh and B flat major seventh sharp eleven there which gives the tune an entirely different flavor. Does anyone know what the original changes that Johnny Carisi (the composer) wrote in those bars?

When Bill Evans invited me to visit him at his motel in L.A. during his second trip, Chuck was there. He asked, "who the hell are YOU?". I responded that Bill had invited me; Chuck was going to slam the door on me when this tall presence appeared over Chuck's left shoulder. It was Bill saying, "let him in; I told him he could come over. Thus began the most thrilling 3 hours I've known as a musician.

I like the whole early Bill Evan's feel: the music of course, but the retro style is also sooo cool - I am just old enough to remember when people still dressed this way...
