It really doesn't matter what system you have in this super volume environment. I have read and talked to other traders on other platforms experiencing the same thing. It is not my PC but rather the amount of data rushing the system all at once. This volatility will soon pass and things will return to normal.

Hello Steve: You had indicated on Oct 8, that your system locks up due to the sudden buy side, high volitility of the markets when you had made a short sale trade. What do you mean by your "system?" Is it: the Lightspeed platform; the operating system; hardware; software; or, processor? How does it lock up? Please enlighten. I will furnish two suggestions. I believe that you may be familiar with these: (continued on page two)
eddyvideostar (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
(Page 2) 1: Would it not be possible to have more than one computer on a separate connection and ISP provider, with your Lightspeed trading platform on it, (just the trading buy and sell box, not the charts or level II) as a backup; so, that if you get locked up, you can immediately close out the trade on the other? In this way, you have no need to fund another brokerage account for this purpose. (continued on page three)
eddyvideostar (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
(Page 3) 2: You could also open up another account with another brokerage on a different connection, buying the identical stock going long after a system failure, while you rectify the bugs in the original system. The second suggestion may seem extravagant, whereas the first, would seem to be very necessary, greatly reducing the risk to the trader. You could also reduce your simutaneous positions and size to allow for the unforeseen. Please give me your feedback regarding the above. Eddy.
