Quartz composer from Apple; VVVV, Pure Data and other projects are free and open source.

We, like listeners, have our opinion - we have right to judge. Say engineer who made a bridge that collapsed says to relatives of ppl, who died in that collapse - "Oh try build your own bridge - it is easy to discuss my mistakes".Radiohead uses fancy programm,without going into details(patches like this are really easy), to mantain the image of experimental band - it is umm... weak(c) and somewhat not honest. Or maybe Max\Msp was built to create boring music, or glitch is out of fashion now :)

Doing something like that in max would be pretty easy. Doing something that sounds good would be only slightly harder. I love Radiohead, but I'll label this "weak."
