I had the pleasure of meeting Sonny Boy Williamson at the Galaxy Club in Basingstoke (England) way back in around 65 or 66 I can't quite remember the exact year, he signed a harmonica case for me and gave me a few words of advice. He was one of several black blues singers touring the UK at that time, I seem to remember he appeared in a Blues television special broadcast from a railway station along with many of what became the big names in Black blues singing.

Outstanding. And the band is workin so good for him and keeps it flowin. (Otis Spann on piano, i guess?...) All these old bluesmen step back behind their music and let it´s wisdom run out of it. No comparison to the modern 'biz' with all the stars and wanna-bees... Thx for posting. |
