This is the Snakes & Music video for "Treading Water", which is found on their latest release entitled "Isabelle". It was produced and directed by Ron Pushkar.Andrew Low (vocals, guits) of the Jazz June has enjoyed a significant cult following earlier in 21st century throughout the indie/alt rock community. Now with fellow Jazz June bassist Dan O'Neill on board, Low and Snakes & Music are set to release their sophomore effort.Scattered about NJ and Philadelphia, Snakes & Music have gracefully shifted into a folk/country/indie rock culmination with strong melodies, a tight rhythm section, layered guitars and an array of piano/keyboards. Joining Low and O'Neill is the lazy, slow finger melodies of lead guitarist Gregg Levy, whose past credits include Citron. Recent additions to the band include Brent Sisk on keyboards and Jonathan Nigro (formerly of TransLove Airways) on drums.Live or recorded, Snakes & Music maintain a dynamic that ranges from a whisper to a holler with psychedelic keyboards and reverb guitars filling in the gaps, all of which making Isabelle the perfect soundtrack for a road trip from NYC to Texas.The recording sessions were stretched out over a few months, so the band was able to do some hands-on-editing and a lot more experimenting than on their previous release for UWR, Truisms. They were also able to write a few songs at the studio and add them as segues from song to song."At times we would all just grab an instrument or percussion piece and let the tape role, but we also did a lot of home recorded demos beforehand, so everything from extra guitars, keyboards and back-up vocals were all written before we went into the studio," says Low. "I love/hate recording because you have to play perfectly, and you get to over-analyze everything, letting all the ideas flow. Playing live is a war. You have to give all you got until it's over. I push myself to perform, entertain and enjoy myself more and more every show we play."
