Bobby Brown wuz the shit in his day...There was nothing personal when he left New Edition. His personality was too strong to be in a group, That's just how it is. Back then he was the standout superstar of the group so he had to go solo...It happens to every group that has a standout superstar in it, it never fails!

i do know he was part of a teenage singing group when in high school in indianapolis, in. whether he was the lead writer for the group i never knew. he was a really strange person in high school. his skills as a writer and singer improved significantly when he relocated to Atlanta.
