Come on, James knew he had to do something different. Using the intro from I and II would feel tired, he found other very creative ways to tie it in. Listen to all three in sequence and you'll hear I and II allll over 3.

Unforgiven III you can tell is a product of his age in a way (maturity). I mean its very symphonic yet entirely Metallica...James is clearly wanting to fuse many elements to make something epic and he did. That comes particularly in the wake of criticism about St. Anger. UN-3 is rock, it's story telling and it's epic. Hell yes.

Unforgiven I, II and III are easily among Metallica's all time 10 best. Absolutely. While III doesn't have the same lead-in it's laced with relation to the other two. Fantastic addition.

Unforgiven 2 is by far the best, Unforgiven is also, very goodUnforgiven 3 however, i wouldn't go so far as into say that its GREAT but it is deffinatly a good song. no arguments therePLUS if u hate either of them then u shudn't be listening to Metallica.. For Shame.
