"Gnarls Barkley" as in Cee-Lo & Dangermouse, but i only read that interview on a forum, so i cant validate if these words were actually his or not.

Gnarls Barkley himself said the song was about suicide and how people gain this false perception of it through music and other ideas. They think suicide is mysterious, but in the end its a completely finite idea. "Dont Follow Me" is him telling people "dont try to understand this" thus, people say "u following me?" in conversations. And she does anyway, and what happens when you realize what hes actually saying? Both of you end. Gnarls Barkley has secrets apparently.

I think that the song in itself just conveys a positive message, but if one CHOOSES to take it into a spiritual context it would be easy to defend that position. A single principle can have both secular and sacred relevance, it doesn't have to be confined to one or the other. Both believers and non-believers believe in having courage, the only difference is one according to faith and the other according to logic. Art is left to interpretation...

I thought the door represented change, and escapism from their dismal reality. Either way, it is a good video and a great song, but I wish it were a little bit longer.
