Just the opposite. She could have made more money by singing popular songs and keeping her politics to herself. She is someone I admire for having the courage of her convictions.Cobe 1976 says it perfectly.

neither does she, according to her, she just loves the imagery.

Self serving would have been hanging out in LA and doing coke with and screwing record execs (like Joni Mitchell & Cher ( both of whom copied JB from the git go), Carly Simon, Linda Ronstadt, Rita Cooledge, Emmylou, Bonnie Raitt etc did), cutting out aLL those "boring" political songs from her repetoire, booking herself on primetime TV and making a bunch of commercial records.Didn't happen, did it?

Who the hell is B.O? And don't try and hurt anybody's feeling with words like ''self-serving''. I've heard it all before with this woman. And just admit you enjoyed the song.

Sounds like you used to read the "Lil Abner"comic strip. What exactly was "self-serving" about Joan Baez? She is and always has been completely true to her ideals in music and in her personal life.

Joanie Phony. Most self-serving individual in the 60's. Digs herself even more than "B.O." lusts after himself today.

Her voice is like an sensible music instrument. She's just uniqe.

Wonderful voice; wonderful song. Joan, I'd love to be playing my Rainsong 12 string when you sing this one.
