Wouldn't work. I mean the clown has to be black because of his characteristics and movement. But the rest, has to be asian, since the movie is overflowing of its history and culture.You change the culture, then you basically change the movie.

Almost every freaking Asian general there was during the 1980's and any asian who was in the military had haircuts like that. First it's in Neo Tokyo, it told them that they were Japanese, there was the Shinto Religion, their style was japanese. Kaneda's whole outfit was the Yankee fashion. yankee fashion in Japan is basically like that with bikes. The whole culture of it was Japanese, no hint whatsoever of any other country. Their looks, look more asian than a white guy.
