I just realized that you were very lucky the concrete had no water in it. : )I had a coffee can forge running at over a thousand degrees sitting on concrete. A part exploded. LOL

Yes, it makes the beam tighter, but you really need a 6" lens as the glass gets very warm. 6" is a wider beam with 300 degree temp vs. 700 of the 4" beam. Clear glass is not really affected by the light unless there are impurities in the glass.

Yes, but it needs to be at least 8" or the Fresnel lens will shatter the magnifying glass. You do not really gain much other than a smaller spot.

What if you put a magnifying glass, say a 4" one and focused the beam from the fresnel lens even tighter? |
