bent hat bass player (roger glover) was more or less kicked out by ritchie (guitar) in 1973. Glenn took over in 1974. though glenn is great, glover was equally equipped to play in such a tight group. ian paice (drums) is still there in this video. if you meant ian gillan (singer till 1973), he left about the same time as glover cause he and ritchie werent gettin along

I dont think so. Ian will always sound best on his own songs, but this is coverdale's song, and i think his voice is best for it.
