I found these comments to be rambling and not what I would expected from this reknown scholar. Also, is he in favor of anti-assimilation (we do live in the US)--that seems to be his Hanukkah message, perhaps because the origins of the holiday are about an extremist sect revolting, in part, against a more assimilationist Jewish world.
