I just found out yesterday that Andy passed away in January. I'm so sorry to hear that. I first saw him in the documentary "Gimme Punta Rock." I'm not Belizean. I hope the people of Belize are proud of Andy. He did a lot to promote Belize and its beautiful culture. One love.

Just bought Andy Palacio & the Garifuna Collective CD, "Watina," and am completely addicted to it! Beautiful music--simplemente maravilloso!!In 2007, Palacio was named a UNESCO Artist for Peace and won the prestigious WOMEX Award. "Watina" was also nominated for the BBC Radio 3 World Music Awards. R.I.P Andy Palacio.
