The interviewer is presenting a show for children ... little kiddies ... hence a dumbed down questioning style. It's not meant to be Jeremy Paxton!

He was just doing every show he could during this period of his career. There really isn't anything wrong with striking while the iron is hot, and his music was (and is) very family-friendly. So it would stand to reason that if the kids liked him, he should do the kids shows.
