I got a 14' SXGA T61 last year.Something I really want to say is I really don't see the point of changing the top cover from magnesium alloyed to the so called screen roll cage (i.e. Metal plate with plastic wrap) which is much thicker, heavier and uglyer. The top cover is actually not flat but curved. It feels like there is a huge bubble in the screen.btw, mine T61's backlight burned out within the first week of purchase.LENOVO, you need to do better.

I think the widescreen T series was a huge mistake on Lenovo's part. They should stick with the 14.1" SVGA models and just improve on that because there are really no equivalents. Users love it for the portability and performance but 15 inch models lose the portability.

But in fact, the material use on T series and R series still difference, T61 use a better cooling system(use whole copper) and with a much better DVD combo, though R61 seems very close to T61, but still have a big difference between them(at least R61 come with the worst keyboard in thinkpad family)

i was a huge fan of T series up to the point Lenovo came out with this version which is almost as huge as the R series...felt dissappointed as it is not practical to carry such big thing in and out everyday which i have to for my work.... |
