in this scene, i totally admire the daughter on how she took the news..yes, she was very, very upset but who wouldn't, right? given the situation..not because her mother being attracted to a woman is wrong..i guess it is more of your parents separating and being introduced to a whole new world too..i would have accepted it so much more differently, violently or stupidly even...i like her role here very much..she's very strong and resilient...

I don't think it's fear from some in the U.S.A re attitude to gay/lesbian. It's the failure to accept other peoples' chosen lifestyles. They need to get a life, and stop hateing and abusing.....it's a threat to freedom and has got to stop. I'm not having a go at you. Just making a point. Great movie!

Depending on where u r, ur life can be a living hell or tolerated. Overall, we live in a society where some people do not know how to accept things that r different. What they don't understand they fear. What they fear they must destroy. But that really isn't any different than any other country, is it? Until "we" as a world population extend basic human rights and equality to all, there will always be those who must judge and condemn others. IMO
