Seeing the dead bodies of your family is just as bad as seeing your best friend who just saved your life blown to indiscernible pieces. We don't have to marginalize what Biden went through, its still a horrible accident. But John McCain's service is something that was done for the country, and that kind of personal sacrifice, the fact that he would willingly to risk it all for his country, I personally think it speaks volumes about the man's character.

How? She didn't belittle or marginalize his expierence. She stated that others have been through things as well. If you ask McCain which is worse? Seeing the dead bodies of his family or being a POW? What do you think he would say? We honor the service, but not at the expense of marginalizing everyone else's tragic expierences.

This is one of the many reasons why McCain lost. Palin says inspiring catch-phrases and sound bites, but it falls well short of legitimate. Things like this fires up the extreme conservative voters, but does nothing for bringing in new votes. The people that followed their campaign were going to vote Republican anyway. Most people, however, fall somewhere in the middle of the 2 parties. She basically is preaching to the choir, which has some serious issues.

Thank you. She never said anything negative about McCain's expierence. She simply said that others have been through the ringer as well. Biden lost his family. That is hell in itself. Palin has tried to divide this electorate with insane statements like this, as well as rural people being the "Real Americans".
