Yeah I agree. Time shows how good someone is.. A few years later, if that person is still awesome then he deserves to be remembered. Like Bruce Lee, etc.

As a kid I was a fan but in hindsight, Van Damme is way overrated. Compared to Bruce Lee or the likes of Jet Li and Tony Jaa, the choreography of his fight scenes was awful; single kick attacks with few if any combinations, blocks or counters. He is a decent practitioner of his kicks displaying his good dynamic flexibility but even so this is ruined by the dramatic slow mo sequences and exaggerated facial expressions and groans. Between 88-96 he seemed cool but now you look back and think WTF?
