Why dont you criticise your selves that most of the turkish cypriots suffered from cruelty between 1963-1974. Why dont you criticise for the turkish people squeezed to %3 of the whole island,killed, murdered, raped, kidnapped, isolated.... ask to old people who lived that days, ask to your elders!!! The Turks slaughtered many innocent Cypriots because a few Turks were treated admittedly bad. I wonder when they decided that was wrong(the Armenian Genocide /Great Fire of Smyrna). They also expelled many more Greeks than the Greeks expelled Turks in the population exchange. Now, both the Turkish and Greek Governments blame the other, it was unfortunately a mutual decision. BUT, 500,000 Turks were sent away, 1.5million Greeks. There are more Turks in Greece than there are Greeks in Turkey now.

People, please understand this. There is no real winner, in any kind of war. Common people are used like ants [expendable]. Families and mothers lose their sons. Not to mention innocent civillians deaths. Though wars have been around since I don't know when, people never learn. Where is the common sense ? Noone is better or deserves more than the other. We are all equal. Be nice to each other. We never know what tomorrow will bring.[Mumbay India] All we need is Love. My respect to all readers.

At schools they don't even mention it you are right, cause it looks very similar to whatthe german army did here...But they have told us the entire truth in the army and have also read about it,even if greek army won over turkish army theystill had to face the rebels, they would get better and better prepared.. and tacticalarmy has no chance against determined rebelsseeking revenge, it was a lose now or loselater big, scenario for them

The fact is that there's no way the Turkish nation could have allowed to lose coastal areas, the 'megali idea' was simply arrogant,even a small nation would want to have accessto coasts and harbours as is the case withevery country on the map, I cannot imaginethat one country rules over all coasts and wealthy areas and others have to live at the back of it, so whoever lives on mainland musthave the coasts too, end of story.
