You are absolutely right. I can apply the population argument to soccer as well. China and India with the 2 largest populations has produced maybe 1 or 2 good players but their soccer program is shit. Compare that to a country like Croatia, with like 5 million people yet they produce big name stars (luca modric) and constantly get into the World cup and the Euro cup. So for the Canadians that say we get out-performed in the olympics because of population, you are wrong. No funds=Bad program.

Let me run that by you again: We spend less per athlete than China does.It has nothing to do with the population of either country. China just spends more on their top tier athletes. Canada spends next to nothing.
