I guess you're right, by best I meant most popular. It's a shame that metalcore exists today though. Although I DO listen to an odd song here and there most metalcore fans don't know shit about metal. Just today I asked one at my school (who claimed to like grindcore) if he knew of Carcass or Napalm Death... he immediately said no. I get made fun of by so many metalcore dicks for liking Nile and Behemoth and shitloads of black metal yet they dont even know where metalcore came from.

I have to disagree, Slaughter of the soul is repetive, not outstanding. It has no bizzare riffs such as The red in the sky is ours~ or anything special. The riffs are melodic, but boring typical melodic death metal. Slaughter of the soul is also an big influence for metalcore.

thought it was juat another death metal rip off? entombed pioneered death metal from the time it came into existence right through till now. im fairly confident you couldnt even tell a death metal rip off even if you heard one because you dont know what death metal is ha ha
