er, American soldier rapists*I haven't seen Redacted, so I shouldn't judge the film too much. But it sounds like a "based on a true story" film that's not something I'd be eager to watch. Seems DePalma has an obsession with the dark side of things in his films. His film Casualties of War looks like it has a similar premise, set in Vietnam. "The film is.. about the realities of war"

Yeah, maybe Redacted is to Iraqi soldier rapists as Scarface was to ex-con Cuban immigrants. Brian DePalma has been seen as an inflammatory b movie director for decades, Scarface flopped too.As I said, don't blame "our troops".. blame the individual culprits. Just like one shouldn't blame all Germans.. you blame those who committed the war crimes and those who looked the other way or covered for them. How is it an obscene analogy.. how you figure? They're both warcrimes/series of warcrimes.

Why because at least Michael Moore attempts to do documentaries. That movie was a documdrama. That conflated facts and made it seem like it was a "true story" probably as true as the blair witch project.It was rejected in theatres, and played endlessly on HDNET which he owns. With horrible ratings.

How are the movies "ANTI-US" and "anti-troops" by chronicling true stories? That's like saying the news shouldn't cover any murders so that people watching overseas will think America is more of a happy place, or saying that admitting the Holocaust was real is being anti-German. Blame the individual soldiers responsible for their crimes, and those who lied and covered up for them.. not "the troops" in general , the filmmakers, or Mark Cuban. Otherwise you're in denial or an apologist at best.
