Interesting talk. One sort of unorthodox point; look at where the web is going, now look at where hardware architecture is at. It's really the platform and not the language that limits functionality. Most of these languages could be done away with if the hardware focus shifted to parallelism, grid computing, and fine-grained MIMD.
