Update:Gilbert Bus Fight Teen Only One To Face Charges

A 15-year-old Gilbert girl will face charges for her role in a violent East Valley school bus fight caught on tape.Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas announced the misdemeanor aggravated assault charges against Sammy Taylor in a news conference on Monday afternoon.A bus driver also involved in the fight, 54-year-old Kim Sullivan, will not face charges.The altercation between the Taylor and Sullivan started as a verbal argument on February 15th while dozens of other students were sitting on the bus near Queen Creek and Higley roads in Gilbert.After arguing for a few minutes, Taylor and Sullivan got into a physical fight on the Williams Field High School bus.Surveillance footage caught it all on tape.Fifteen-year-old Taylor accused Sullivan of punching her. Sullivan accused Taylor of going crazy.The Gilbert Police Department had requested charges to be filed against both.Two other students involved in the disturbance, 14-year-old Cassandra Schlosser and 16-year-old Erin Sullivan, have been offered a diversion program on a disorderly conduct charge.If they complete the requirements set up by the Juvenile Probation Office, charges will not be filed against them.Taylor is now enrolled at a charter school.
