Yes, back then audiences were charmed by quality singing. Today "Artists" sway crowds with all sorts of stuff....none of which has to do with any genuine talent. I'm 42, my childhood years sparkled with the music 70's so I can differentiate between the sheer class of yesteryear and the gutless imitations we've listened to in recent times.

And I agree back, Primeralives. I'm 41 in 2 weeks and these songs steeped my childhood. GREAT music. I've got his "VERY BEST of" and "Singer Sowing Machine". Now I want ALL his albums. A VERY underrated songriter!

I couldn't agree more StopFramEmotion. When you have lived and experienced that era and those songs, the "feces" they play today leaves me,a 49 yr old, longing for that great music and wonderful memories we had. Yup! i will always enjoy my "nostalgia" the same way I enjoy good 12 yr old Scotch on the rocks.
