Asperger's is a type of autism spectrum disorder. Autism is also an ASD, but not the same as Asperger's. Two-thirds of ASDs are either Asperger's or PDDs. "Autism", the disorder described by Kanner, comprises about one-third of the spectrum.

President Bush is calling for an amendment that would remove the children's safety provision from the FY 2008 HHS-Labor-Education Appropriations Bill. According to the President, measures to ban the use of childhood flu vaccines that contain thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative, are "objectionable provisions".
