Yes, I totally agree with you and I wish everyone felt the same. The south makes a lot of trashy music. Just some bullshit that I could never buy and never will listen to. I'm on that real shit and I'll never change. I was brought up on that NYC 90's hip hop and that's what's in me. There is still quality hip hop now it's just real underground and a lot of people don't hear it and don't listen to it.

Real Hip Hop started in NYC. NYC has the better skill rappers. The west has a few but not nearly as many as NYC. Lets be honest, the south doesn't have to much. They might sell records and radio play but when it comes down to real real raw skills. Real hip hop heads know what I'm saying. The greatest rappers of all time come out of the east. Who is better than Rakim? Who is better than Jay-Z or Nas? In my opinion those are my top 3 of all time. I would argue that Canibus is up there as well.

Gay-Z had 1 hip hop album, then turned into Brittany Spears the moment Piggie Smellz died, back in 97. Big Pun, what did he accomplish, hardly shit. Piggie had like 2 actual albums, but in "reality" they were clones of Me Against the World and All Eyez On Me. Nas, is ooook. But the Wu-Tang was the greatest thing New York had, since KRS-1 and classic MC's.

i think NY has plenty of great rappers, biggie, big L, big Pun, nas, jay-z, wu-tang clan, LOX/D-Block and M.O.P just to name a few. the west did its part to with pac, ice cube/N.W.A etc. but the south has done very little, and lately it has become garbage, Ny still has a few decent rappers, the west too. thats y i think that Ny deserves to be cocky.
