I have that guitar. It beats the crap out of anything Squire or Epiphone makes -- plays and frets in tune, my friend, and if you can find that on any other guitar in this price range, you're a better man than I am, Gunga Din. Almost!

this guitar is going to sound better when david is playing it than someone who is new to guitar, souly due to the amp. No one who is going to buy that guitar is going to have that good of amp.

is this demo made with the factory 9's? its got a tinny plucky sound which i hope is from the 9s.

Nice work dude!But I think the DS-1 is not a good choice to test a guitar with single coil or P90 pickups. I'd like to see a test with that guitar pluged into pedals like the RAT, Big Muff or the Tube Screamer. I think it would gice us a better idea of the potential of that guitar.I'm from Brazil, so sorry for the english mistakes...:/

I own a 2008 model like this but with P180 pickups and in Cream color. I'm very pleased with it. The P180s have a much more chimey sound. Overall quality is excellent for $240 delivered with hard case. I agree it needs a pickguard so I bought a sheet of white pearloid and plan to start that project this weekend. I did immediately remove the stock strings, polish the frets and bridge. Action and intonation needed no adjustment. I'll be looking hard at the new models due online in a week.
