David Archuleta has such a great voice. He is mature way beyond his years, but he still has the boyish traits (both physically, and he just seems so vulnerable and innocent) I love how he seems like a different person when he's singing. When he sings, he seems to be singing to YOU only... and his eyes LITERALLY twinkle. He belongs right on the stage, and I'm glad he went and tried out for American Idol! Or else, I wouldn't even be listening to him :)

I had the pleasure of meeting David in NYC yesterday at the Virgin Megastore. The crowd was huge and totally in love with him. He was so friendly and warm to everyone who came to the desk for an autograph. He looked me in eyes and thanked me for my kind words to him. Although songs like Angels and Imagine are wonderful, I still believe that this performance of Love Me Tender ranks as the best and most moving performance in the 7 year history of American Idol.

It's as if all the beauty in the world has been put in human form, and given the body and soul of David Archuleta. The combination od David's sincerity, vulnerability, and breathtaking singing of this classic makes this the best performance in the 7 year history of American Idol. My body can't take it. That's what the chills are for. Check out the longer studio version of this, and bring your Kleenex. Love you, David.

You're right - women melted when they heard this! A combination of good looks, a great voice and sincerity creates a very strong appeal. It's hard NOT to fall in love with him after this performance!
