What?! It has not even been around for a century yet! Classical music has been around for many centuries. No music will ever really 'have it's day', it will evolve and express itself exactly how it needs to. People should play whatever they need to. But in a few years you will be indeed hearing some VERY new things from me :D

They don't always. Most do say they practice, and DO practice. When you practice, you are training your muscles in a very direct way to be able to perform the movements that typify the type of music you want to play. Just "playing" is a very hit-or-miss approach and won't give you results as fast as practicing. Yngwie's "playing" was more like practicing than most people who just "play" or noodle, but understand also that he generally "played" 8 to 9 hours a day for 10 years.

That's just stupid. If you repeat "intricate classical scales" then you're redundant anyway, right? Neoclassical has has it's day, it's time for something new again.
