I don't really see the fat part, I see it more as not waiting to grow up. When your a kid all you want to do is be older. I think it's more of a metaphor for how fast you grow up, could be wrong though.

The oh so labeled and misunderstood "indie" genre is a great one, but along that greatness comes some of the most cryptic and masterminded lyrics of modern music. With that respect it's my opinion that this song is an animated retrospect of the singers childhood. "you drop the first ten years just as fast as you can" He or a friend may have been fat as a child, all the talk of friends and specific recollections along with the face paint and sad rain ending portray very well a childhood drama
