merdujapon1 (September 14, 2008 at 8:08 am)
why is everyone arguing about techniques? jesus christ just listen to the damn song and enjoy it for fucks sake

The point of the matter, khanoh89, is that even Thom's bum notes don't detract from his overall performance. I just listened to this performance and didn't cringe once. It's all about feeling, and Thom Yorke has it aplenty. Also, if you want perfection, or whatever you describe as perfection, go and listen to the studio version and leave the live fans alone. Idiot. Just because you have this "amazing" opinion that Thom sings badly doesn't mean we need to as well. It's opinion, mate, not fact.

"technical excellence doesn't always equate to listener pleasure.""I'd rather listen to The Ramones than Yes."I cannot comprehend you.

You misunderstand me, I meant that technical excellence doesn't always equate to listener pleasure. I'd rather listen to The Ramones than Yes.And it's very easy to say you're a better singer but, until you've done a gig in front of >50k people with monitors blowing up and unable to hear yourself, I don't think it's fair to make the comparison.

It's his song - I obviously wouldn't dispute that. I just hope for the sake of the listener's ears that it's the record version. |
