I am currently playing the 3rd cd in a 3cd set that I have of Kenny R. This has a lot of his songs with First Edition and I love it. This song and also Me and Bobby Mcgee --amazing.

What a melodic voice this man has. I was more of a pop/rock listener, but this fella established himself firmly in all genre of music. I always found myself humming right along when they played his songs on the radio, to the dismay of my friends. And kudos on the earing, I thought I was doing a big thing wearing one in HS in the mid 80's. That's Kenny always ahead of his time. ~Gods Blessings~.

I dearly love this song and NOBODY can do it up so nicely as Kenny Rogers. I could listen to most of his older songs all day and never tire of them, he and The First Editions are my favorites. The Gambler is right up there on top, too, they all make your feet tapitty-tap and your hands clappity-clap----wonderful.Dottie

He tried every type of singning, I guess country music was his type.

The Lord Jesus Christ is coming soon. Are you ready? You can be! For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Behold the Lord Jesus Christ is coming soon! Call upon the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be ready!

I couldn't agree more with bigirishbear this really is a fantastic classic song of Kenny Roger's... He was & still will be in my eyes the King of Country & Western Music, with Dolly Parton being the Queen as a duo they were amazing. Especially when they did Island's In The Stream together.
