I do know what I'm talking about the term Marcato is similar to staccato, with each note played in a disconnected fashion, but is different because each note is played for its entire duration. The Italian word staccato (literally detached, plural staccatos or staccati) indicates that notes are separated in a detached and distinctly separate manner. I so know what I'm talking about like I said we should be able to feel and hear the contrasting rhythm in this peice and its not happening!!

Know the different? maybe you mean the difference? Not sure. Sapranoes? is that a new voice part that I have never heard about? 20th century music is just so damn innovative. The tenor sounded fine. He may have had a little bit of nasality going on which he would probably fix with a slight lift in the back of the throat but he had the character of the piece down. Also never heard the word run used to describe anything done in a spiritual. Bach meets Hogan? whatever. lol

I believe the word you are looking for may be marcato? yeah marcato. Tenuto vs. Staccato and Legato vs. Marcato. May want to brush up on your music terminology before you argue with the big kids. I think they sound pretty damn awesome.

Let me step in to this nothingless arguement to say. This Performance was very much polished. I enjoyed every bit. and to address you ms "KATRINAHATER"...the tenor was putting the exact soul that this song was meant to have in to the song the best he could. and did a splendid job. This song was very well done. Bravo!!!

This song is not Legato but Staccato we should hear the rhythm in the vocals and the sopranos are a mess! They would be great singing a baroque peice.

everything was perfectuntil......the end where the sapranoes are supposed to hold that high note in the endshe cracked....2:59but other than that it was amazingblend and balance was perfectioni saw in everyones face that they loved to singtenor solo should use better vowels-it is a choral solo not a country song solomake sure to know the different-didnt need the extra runs and such that part was too country and it shouldnt have been

You might want to look at auditioning some younger sopranos, or ones that don't nodes. That was painful. GREAT Blend, but they've got to go.

HUBassProdigy, I love your comments. You always bring comedy to my life. But what else would you expect from them?
