I think bearfoot is right. This has always been my favorite song, but I never had a clue what it meant. Then one day I saw this emo kid walking through Wal Mart texting on his cell phone and then it hit me. This song is about how people today are becoming out touch with reality through technology, and yet they all think they have it harder than everyone else.

this is attachment theory... the "water" their in is a descriptive of the lost feeling of not having stable attachments... can see the world.. but without the attachments you have no idea how to live and are constantly trying to get solid ground to stand on.. consistancy if you will... from personal expieriance parents get their kids sweets and toys to keep them out of their lives.. E.G. kid walks upto mommy and starts trying to get attention.. and is told to get a sweet or go play somewhere |
