rekzkarz, try this experiment:Turn on a lamp with its lampshade removed.Now shine a very bright light on the light bulb, aimed at a distant wall.Does the bulb cast a shadow, even though it is also generating light?Why, yes, yes it does.Any object that blocks light casts a shadow, regardless of whether or not it also generates light. If the light it generates is brighter than the light shining on it, then its light may wash out the shadow, making it less apparent, but it's still there.
