yeah for the most part rap is an element of hip hops diverse culture but it has been manipulated by the media, MTV, BET you know the whole deal so yeah the image of rap(ex pitch black, old school nas, gang starr, Guru, KRS-one) has been deface by rappers like (ex 50,cent lil wayne, G-unit, T.I etc)

rap is a form of entertainment. Hip hop is an extension of culture. rap (the genre, not the action) is a part of hip hop but its the least favorable part of hip hop considered by hip hop moguls (such as myself).
