You aren't honestly that gullible to think I thought this was about desperate hill-billies are you? It's an exaggeration, the point you've been trying to make was in my first comment all along.

I'm always amused by a good comeback. right on! If the lyrics of this song indicate a depiction on desperate hill-billies to you, that is what it is about, to you. My point is that ones expirience of a given content may differ between the listener. And by not revealing what a song is about gives the lyric the power to contain much, much more than the original thought... and that gives a song spirit.

trillions? Wow he could start his own nation with that money, I never knew A singer could make more Than any one person in the world. I guess that can be a strange theory, "Maynard is controlling the united states with his trillions of dollars he got from singing!"

I beleive that this song is about whatever you want it to be. Maynard has, in several interviews, said that he will not reveal what any son is about, because it might ruin ones own thoughts.
