in my opinion bernard sumner is an absolutely fantastic singer, esp. for this era, but for some reason i consider him primarilly a lead guitarist, and have a feeling he does too.

bernard is a good singer its just that he isnt the best at it when performing live on the albums hes is amazing and lets not forget that they were joy division when this was wrote AND ON JOY DIVISIONS songs they had ian singing but bernard does a decent enough job
