well, no they did start up in 1968; this is their 40th year. they produced 2 LPs before "the yes album": "yes" and "time and a word". bill bruford left after "close to the edge". check out the yesworld (official website). they were hardly influenced by 90s rap.

wow no they didn't they fucking started in the 70s, chris squire the bassist and jon anderson the singer started the band. Ever heard of the yes album, fragile, or close to the edge? Really great cds by them in the 70s. Steve howe, Bill bruford and Rick wakemen were in the band. Bill Bruford left after the fragile album to join king crimson, in fact most of the people left and came back to the band except for chris squire. Do you really think that a 70s prog band was influenced by 90s rap?

Yeah, I liked it...

that's an interesting retelling of history given that Yes formed in 1968.

"Yes" got their start by listening only to Rap artists in the late 90's. That's the only reason they're so good...

i never said rap sucked. I just dislike people calling it music. Yes, it started out as poetry, and now most of the mainstream rap even forgot what it's meant to be. No peotry, just rhythms and mindless words. There is some respectable rap i like, but i don't listen to it as music.

Rap is a sonic aberration. Yes area musical masters. Is another constelation, is poetry in every note. |
