There is something in this song that drives me to an unexplicable nostalgic mood... Its lirycs, its sounds, it's unending armonic "mattres" with the strings, Joni's voice... wow, it's just amazing...

or it's just, when you're little and you look at the clouds and just go off day dreaming and things are good and happy. then you get depressed and those clouds are just things that keep you down. she's looked at them happily, she's looked at them depressed, either way.. both are just ways to see life and life is unpredictable.

clouds in the first section are dreams you have, the second section it's those things that block your dreams. she's reflecting those dreams she had and how those bad things happen and how you can never predict life.

to lazyisa-i don't know how old you are. if you listen to every word and line from this incredible songwriter, you will get it. joni is forever my all time fave. just listen to the words. watch her sing this live on you tube(2000), maybe you'll get a better idea.who knows-nobody knows-that's kind of the point-kind of. ta ta
