hey hey hey!!!! FYI! it wasn't the National Artist Ramon Obusan who researched this dance!!! it was actually the bayanihan team headed by National Artist Urtula. Ramon just made a secondary research for his company (Ramon Obusan Folkloric Dance Company). and this is not the way it was researched. the actions are totally altered. this is too much. it doesn't look like folk at all except for the costumes. And in cordillera dances, the girls never move this way! this is drastic!

the execution of the actions is totally not cordillera. they could've done a contemporary dance show instead of folk. this is a bad interpretation of the salidsid and banga. people from other countries may appreciate this dance but for a filipino like me who knows how this dance supposed to be like, it's not that flattering at all. what are the costumes for if the dance is totally ruined?

i'm igorot and this is what we call a theatrical interpretation of an igorot dance - most, if not all dances done by dance troupes are executed with a lot of modifications but i do believe that modifications should be minimal so that the original movements and music be given their due recognition.

There composition is amazing and their moves are simply flawless... I'd like to see them again this march-may on their european tour...

I am spanish... I have seen this group. It am amaze how they compose, you'll never notice the difference of the hair, height, skin color and everything. They all look alike. I have talked to their head someone in the name of ms. alo and she said they dont accept dancers that cant pass dr physical requirements.

Of course it is not that orginal esp. this people are from Cebu, a presidential decree order was made by marcos to make this group as cultural ambasador of the philippines. Bayanihan dance group is new group. This group has been moving around the globe to promote the Philippines funded by the governemnt. This is of course not really original but idealize one to make it more attractive. Well, if you have watch sinulog you kinda understand this kind of approach...

hindi na kelangan pang mag research coz tapos na po.. sinusunod lng po namin kung ano po ang nasa book ng sayaw.. these dances are already research by experts in this field like Mr.Ramon Obusan, national artist for dance..and another thing, hindi nmn siguro malaking tanong kung bakit hindi mo makikita ang mga sayaw na to.. kasi may mga pagbabago rin sa mga culture natin.. kaya nga may mga sayaw na ganito para malaman mo na meron pa lng ganyan na sayaw ang mga ninuno mo!!

Nice dance.. they are all good.. but ahhhh.. the dance isn't called a cordillera dance.. they just used cordilleran attire.. ikutin nyo man buong cordillera, wala kaung makikita na ganitong sayaw.. im telling this cause im a 100% igorot and i assure you that.. anyways, the guys are good.. keep up dancing but next time, dont call it a cordillera dance.. thanks..
